Initial Videography Research

 I did research into videography (shots, shot sizes etc) so that I could extend my knowledge into the subject to make the production process easier, also wanting to do this research so when it came to analyzing media I could analyze the visual aspects of it. I also felt it would give me a better understanding of why directors used the shots they used and how certain videography elements are done to have an impact on an audience. Smile Campaign - Market Research

I conducted some research into existing products so that I could get a better idea or the codes and conventions of a typical advert as well as the fact that it gave me a better idea of how I should create an advert and what I could create around mental health seeing as I watched an advert on mental health. Market research is essential as it is used to help a company understand what their competitors are making and how they could make their product better than their own.  I did this research on short form and long form seeing as we would potentially be creating a video for the canon campaign and we are making an advert for the smile campaign. Research On Low-Key Lighting

 I had done this research so that I could expand my knowledge in this subject area. This was important as it meant when it came to me doing my research into other products on the market it would be easier for me to analyze them as well as analyzing my own product during the post production process. Journeys Campaign Research

I did this research into the client as it is a vital part of making a product for someone as we need to know the views and values of a company to ensure that the product we are making is suitable for them. I also did this as it helped me research the area of what they wanted me to make a product around, looking up and analyzing articles/their contents around different kinds of Journeys to give me ideas for my own products. It was also so I had a clear outline of what my target audience was and what issues I needed to keep in mind when creating a product for said target audience.
