Smile Video Feedback
To ensure that my video is engaging to my audience, I did a screening in front of a few of my peers so that I could see people's inital reaction to the video. I made a form before the screening so that I could quickly get responses before people forgot the content within the video. It was important for me to get feedback from my peers as I wanted to see what people liked however also what they would change so I could take that into mind before putting submitting my final piece (So I could make small changes whilst editing)
Thankfully, all of those who watched my video all felt that the video was appropriate for the client and they felt that if they were in Mind's shoes they would be happy to recieve the product I made. I was happy to recieve this feedback as if the audience felt that the content in my video did, in fact, not contain appropriate content/fit the brief then I would have had to go back and re-record my footage as well as re-do the editing.
Out of all the questions I asked, I felt that this one was the most imporant to ask seeing as everyone who attended the screening was part of my audience and if they had felt that my advert didn't appeal to all audiences I would have had to go back and restart the editing process all over again. Thanks to the feedback I recieved I didnt have to go back and change any of the content within the video itself.
Seeing as Technical Skill was an important component of this project that we had been working on since the beginning of college, I felt that it would be appropriate to ask my peers if they felt that I had shown good technical skills through my video. Thankfully, they all agreed that my video did, in fact, show good techincal skill. If there had been people who disagreed I would have went back and took their feedback on board and I would have went to see a lecturer to ask how I could improve my techical skills when it came to both the filming and the editing software.
Finally, I asked this question so that I could actually get some feedback on what I could improve in my video from the perspective of another student doing the same projects I'm doing. One of the poeple who felt they would change something was Jennifer Finnigan however her only feedback was to make some scenes brighter (The scenes on the stairwell of her smiling and reading) which you can see I have improved in my final product as the scenes are a lot brighter than they originally had been. The second person who felt that there were things that could be changed was Amy Kilbride. She had felt that some of the video transitions should be changed and that the script should be changed as it was repetative however these were things I made the executive decision not to change as these had been done this was intentionally. I had explained to her that the harsh transitions at the beginning of the advert were done on purpose to enphasise how badly the model had been feeling at the beginning of the advert compared to how she had felt when the transitions began to get smoother/softer. I also explained that the script was repetative as I had researched and found out that people like repetiton as they find it comfortable and that is what I wanted my advert to feel to a viewer.
